The Thousandaires -- with Hefko on vocals, guitar and tenor sax -- bring these stories to life with the spontaneity of jazz, the rough-hewn, bare-bones tone of backwoods folk songs and the raucous vibrancy of classic Louisiana Rhythm and Blues. Their 2018 album, Gas Station Guru, has gotten great press and radio airplay all over the world, and Down Below, was picked by a poll of Offbeat Magazine writers as one of the 50 best albums of 2021. Ted Hefko and The Thousandaires had the honor of performing at New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 2022, after a two-year pause in action, and now they’re back performing far and wide from New Orleans favorite dive bars, to venues an festivals across the country.
