7-piece funk, blues, and soul collective Pocket Chocolate—Tucker France [guitar, vocals], Gabe France [bass, vocals], Connor Zaeringer [drums], Dalton Stieffel [keys, percussion], Gui Kirsch [tenor sax], Sal Gaither [trumpet], and Garret Hickman [alto sax]—is a band of born and raised New Orleans musicians. Since forming in 2019, the group has played all throughout the Gulfcoast as well as extensively in Louisiana. In September of 2023, the group released their debut EP “Live From New Orleans” (recorded at multiple venues across New Orleans) and is currently recording their debut LP with Jake Eckert of the New Orleans Suspects. With a combination of original songwriting and samples from musical influences across genres, Pocket Chocolate aims to captivate audiences with their scrumptious modern take on the vibrant styles of music that founded New Orleans’ musical culture.
