The New Orleans Johnnys
Friday April 18th
"Born from a festival fever dream and raised on a decade of dive bar gigs, The New Orleans Johnnys blend the grooves of classic New Orleans rock & roll and distinctive funk rhythms with their own down-home, gritty blues energy. Blazing horns and virtuosic keys round out the band’s unmistakably New Orleans sound, which earned the group a 2020 Offbeat Magazine Best of the Beat Music Award nomination for Best Rock Artist. Whether performing their original songs or putting their own spin on beloved standards or eclectic covers, they strive to connect with audiences to spread an infectious energy that gets folks dancing - creating one of the most captivating live shows in town.
Ticket price $10 Their studio work includes the 2017 Lush Like Me EP and the 2020 Outta Ya Mind LP, which Dan Willging of OffBeat Magazine described as “a massive injection of tightly crafted, action-packed hybrid of rock ’n’ roll, blues rock, funk and a dollop of swamp pop that rarely hits pause...”. Both the album and the video for the album’s lead single, “Don’t Wanna Dance,” earned 2020 Best of the Beat Music Award nods for the band. "
